Before you get really busy with holiday shopping, visits, and vacations, why not have your vehicle serviced? Time seems to speed up around the holidays, with so much to get done and so little time. Or so it seems. So our recommendation is to have some maintenance done now before you look up and it’s January!
Check the Tires
There’s no bad time to check your tires. In fact, a really good piece of advice is to walk around your car each time you drive it. Do the tires look low? Do you see any damage to your tires (or any other part of your car, while you’re doing a quick check)? Are the tires wearing evenly? Check that there’s enough tread on the tires while you’re at it. Simply insert a penny upside down into the tread. If you can see all of Lincoln’s head, your tires need to be replaced.
Have Your Brakes Inspected
If you haven’t had your brakes inspected lately, now is a perfect time. If you’re planning to leave the Sacramento area and go to the Sierras for skiing or snowboarding, your brakes need to be in tip-top shape. And if you’re traveling over the holidays, that’s another reason to have your brakes inspected.
Check the Oil
When was the last time you had your oil changed? Many people go far too long between oil changes. If your oil is too old, your engine can overheat and lead to expensive maintenance costs. At TOS Auto Repair, our technicians believe in prevention. Checking the oil regularly can prevent a whole host of problems down the road.
Have the Exhaust System Inspected
Parts of your exhaust system can become rusted and deteriorate. Any part of your exhaust system that is not working correctly needs to be repaired or replaced. Loose clamps will need to be tightened or replaced. You can listen for any new sounds from your exhaust and let your auto technician know about anything new you’ve been hearing.
We’d love to see you and help maintain your vehicle. Schedule an appointment today. TOS Auto Repair is located at 5916 Auburn Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA 95621. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM through 5:30 PM.
